Get ready for a treasure hunt like no other with Barbarossa, the once-feared pirate who rose to command the formidable Ottoman Navy. After his attack on Mykonos in 1537, when the island was under Venetian rule, he hid a treasure of valuable gems across 17 secret locations scattered throughout Mykonos’ old town. To claim these treasures, you must prove your worth by solving the riddles Barbarossa left behind. As you uncover the gems, you will also explore Mykonos’ rich history and heritage by visiting its most famous landmarks, such as the charming Little Venice neighborhood and the iconic windmills.
This is a hybrid event, where you’ll use the Narratologies app to navigate, earn your gems, read stories and fun facts, and receive riddles and clues for your next stop. Along the way, you’ll encounter our Treasure Hunt facilitator, who will assist with gameplay. At the end, they will lead a triumphant coronation to announce who has claimed the largest share of Barbarossa’s treasure.
